Madden NFL 19: My Thoughts on Gameplay Features

Hello, my name is Anthony Payton and today I want to give my thoughts on the new Madden NFL 19 trailer and gameplay features. Here’s the trailer in case you haven’t seen it:

In my opinion, I think the presentation looks improved from last year since Madden switched to the Frostbite engine. The player models look great and I was happy they included Shaquem Griffin’s missing hand in the game, but I’m curious if they are going to allow him to get interception with one hand only. The only thing I’m still waiting for in the presentation is weather effects on the field such as wear and tear on the grass, muddy uniforms, and different variation of precipitation.

For gameplay features, I’m really excited about these features. One of these new features is Real Player Motion where now we have more realistic animations in the game. The Real Player Motion is very useful for ballcarriers such as running backs have a better one-cut animation where it’s slower and realistic for the players. I’m happy about this because one of my complaints from last year is that running backs in Madden 18 were too agile to tackle in open-field due to players swerving the runner left and right to avoid the defenders. Also, bigger running backs such Derrick Henry can push the pile to get through the hole and this is pretty much told me that we will see different type running styles in the game since Madden 07. Also, we will receive Quarterback Signature Styles from pre-play animations to throwing animations. Another big addition to the game is the return of user-controlled celebrations. Here’s the link for the celebrations controls.

All in all, I’m so excited for Madden 19 and I hope it don’t disappoint me like last year. I’m still waiting for news about franchise improvements.
