On Wednesday night, Dwyane Wade left the Miami Heat to sign with the Chicago Bulls. This is shocking because Wade had spend his 13-year career with Miami and won three championships with the organization. The reason this is happening due to him and Pat Riley couldn’t find a right deal between each other. Dwyane Wade has never been the highest player on the team despite winning championships and playoffs games. He sacrificed money to bring players such as LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Goran Dragic. Last year, there was contract problems between Wade and the organization until they reached to an agreement of a one year contract worth $20 million. This year of free agency, Wade wanted to get pay at least $20 million per year but the Heat declined and offered him $10 million so they can sign Hassan Whiteside and going after Kevin Durant. Dwyane Wade felt disrespected with this offer and went to other teams such as New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls. After failing to sign Kevin Durant, Miami Heat offered Wade 2 yr/$40 million deal but Wade wanted more such as $50 million. Heat didn’t respond to this and Wade announced that he will sign with the Chicago Bulls for 2 yr/ $47 million. This is disappointing for the relationship between Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat to end like this. However, Wade had a reason to leave because Pat Riley should have paid him. Wade was done sacificing money and want the contract that was rightfully his, which was the max. The Heat gave max contract to Dragic, Bosh, and Whiteside but not to Wade. What this means for Miami is they need a new face for their team. Also, I think Pat Riley did this on purpose in order to make Wade leave so the team can move forward to a new era. For Wade and the Chicago Bulls, it can work since Wade was born and raised from Chicago. The problem is the ego of him, Rajon Rondo, and Jimmy Bulter. Wade and Bulter can work out but Rondo is the problem since he have history of being a bad teammate and having issues with coaches. The last time Rondo was controllable when he was with the Boston Celtics with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. That worked because they would get on Rondo whenever he acts up. Also, they were older than him and were mentors to him. After they left, wherever Rondo landed, he was the oldest player on the team. But with Wade on the team, Wade can mentor Rondo similar to the Boston Celtics. Hopefully, the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade can work it out and the relationship can be restored.
